U.S. Navy To Get Devil Ray USVs From MARTAC As Company Boosts Production By 100 Units Annually

Maritime Tactical Systems (MARTAC), a manufacturer of autonomous surface vessels, has partnered with SOLACE Boats to boost production of its Devil Ray USV by a hundred units annually to meet the requirements of the U.S. Navy and its allies.

According to the announcement made on September 15, 2026, SOLACE would offer its production facility spanning 4.59 acres in Florida’s Edgewater for manufacturing MARTAC’s autonomous vessels.

The USV Devil Ray T24 was launched by the company in 2023, after which it became a huge success with the U.S. Navy and navies of allies as a multipurpose autonomous vessel which can undertake missions in coastal shallow waters and also in open ocean while carrying different payloads.

SOLACE uses similar technology of vacuum infusion and hull design as employed by MARTAC to produce its Devil Ray and Mantas unmanned surface vessels (USVs)

The autonomous ships can function as motherships to deploy smaller MANTAS T12 USVs along with underwater and aerial drone systems.

MARTAC built the USV in such a way that it seamlessly integrates and accommodates collision-avoidance data as well as new AI capabilities without requiring a system overhaul or redesign.

The contract reflects the company’s push to expand its production capabilities by partnering with established manufacturers in the shipping industry and companies that have expertise in manufacturing autonomous boats for a diverse client base.

SOLACE fits into this requirement perfectly as a manufacturer of luxury centre console boats at facilities covering 16 acres close to the Intracoastal Waterway.

MARTAC is partnering with a lot of maritime companies to boost production of its different USVs It is choosing manufacturers experienced in USVs to reduce the manufacturing time.

The company builds autonomous vessels for naval, military, commercial and scientific uses. Currently, its fleet of USVs includes MANTAS-X and Devil Ray Expeditionary Classes.
