This study establishes the first integrated nasal and anal microbiome baseline for this species, profiling microbial communities from 90 free-ranging seals across eight Arctic locations. Results reveal distinct nasal and anal microbiome structures, with latitude influencing anal microbiome diversity. Notably, shifts in bacterial genera—such as increased *Psychrobacter* northward—were observed, offering a valuable reference for future health monitoring.
