Beauty and makeup routine and brands??

Not big into makeup or skincare routines but trying to get there now that I am starting to have the time. I’m wondering what is the best recommendations for a basic routine and makeup process and if the Korean brands live up to all the hype you hear about them. If so which are the best to look into ? I usually just go with a foundation, mascara, and lipstick or lip stain. Something basic. But lately I’m finding foundation doesn’t blend as well and I’m looking for one of the pigment adjusting ones.
