Opinions on Colombia for a girls trip?

Hello! I am looking to plan a girls trip to Latin America and have been considering Colombia as a potential destination, but I have some reservations as we will have some inexperienced travelers with us and I know Colombia can require some extra caution. We were considering starting in Cartagena and then visiting the coffee region. I would absolutely love to visit Colombia but I am trying to be realistic for what makes sense for the group.

For anyone who has been do you think this is a good destination choice or should we look to other countries? Any recommendations? We will have a mix of Spanish speakers and non Spanish speakers as well as experienced travelers and non experienced travelers.

For reference, this will be for early next year, likely January but could be changed over to March. For budget we prefer a mid range budget and will be flying from the US.
