What do you look for in skincare products?

I’m fairly new to skincare so I am curious what you typically look for in skincare?

I’ve seen people with several step routine, do you get all toners, serum, eye cream, moisturizer, and sunscreen? Or just some, if some, which ones?

Are you also looking at ingredients or usually just buy what’s popular or whatever the product description says?

Do you have any recommendations or recommended brands?
