Us Westcoast and Hawaii

Hello,

we (M 33, W 30) plan to travel the US-Westcoast and Hawaii as our Honeymoon-trip this september.

We start with two nights in San Francisco and then drive down the Highway 1 with a rented car. We stop at Pismo Beach for one night and then Palm Springs for another night. At this point we skip LA and go to Grand Canyon Village to stay there for one night. Next stop is Page, also for one night and the day after, we go to Bryce Canyon Village. Another night later we drive to Las Vegas. Next day we drive to our last stopover - Los Angeles. We stay there for one night and then fly to Hawaii (Kauai) in the afternoon. There we will stay 7 nights in Kapa'a.

Of course we wanna see the most common attractions, but we are not really there for city-trips. We are looking forward to see nature and landscape and would do a few hikes. Yosemite Nationalpark we skip intensionally, 'cause landscape there is very similar to where we live (Austria). That's why we do the longer and more stressful route to the Canons - the kind of landscape we have never seen before until now.

We would love to get some advice/tips for places we should absolutely visit and some general advice for travelling the USA.

Thank you!!

Edit: The fligths are booked and also the 2 nights in San Francisco. The route between San Francisco and Los Angeles ist still changeable. So If you have any sugestions how to optimize the trip for less driving, feel free to tell us.
