So i am forced to choose my profession at 15. My parents want me to decide now itself as they need to manage finances.

A little backstory is that i go to a convent igcse school that has only the most advanced subject options for gcses. I have chosen to leave after my gcses this year as this school isnt really worth the hassle. I will be switching to An Ib curriculum for my senior and junior year. I have been taking bio chem physics math and english for my gcse subjects. In ib curriculum i will be taking bio, chem and geography as main subjects. I take a heavy interest in biology, that is mostly non negotiable.

My sister has ADD and needs shadowing in school and goes to therapy for this. She has inschool counseling and independent therapy outside school as well. This brings my parents a huge grand total. We live an upper middle class life so we are able to manage as is with my sister. The only downside to this is that theres not much of a budget for me to work with for my further studies. Dont get me wrong there is quite a rack, but not sufficient enough for it to cover my tuition for under and post grad, atleast not without a loan.

I have taken an interest in marine zoology and mammology. I have found very many colleges for masters and bachelors for studies of marine zoology. I am trying my best to try and build up my Cv for college. I had scored 3 marketing internships but that does nothing for me. I work at an animal shelter which could rack for community service hours but nothing else. Where i live theres really not any science related internships so i am clueless. I am attempting to get a scholarship or atleast try and find a university i can rely on +cheap.

My parents want me to figure out what i want to do because it impacts the subjects i take. They want me to test out my options in commerce and economics and such. I honestly take no interest in such subjects so im committed to bio. But then again i have no idea what jobs entail marine zoology, academia ? Research? Maintenance?

Can anyone help me out on what and all to expect? Im going to be attending a career counseling session soon but so far i have my mind set on marine zoology. I also fear my generation has romanticized marine biology so there also that😭
